Hiring a Creative Director/Manager for
your design team?
It is important to remember that most graphic designers are artists and have unique personalities. It takes a special person to manage a design team. Managers of designers need to be sensitive to the designers background and where they come from. What are their strengths and weaknesses? Graphic Design is a very personal career. Many designers don't know how to separate themselves from their work. Managers need to take that in to account when critiquing their work. The approach should always be, what can we do to make it even better? Designers aren't your average employee. They need to be treated differently and appreciated for the job they are doing. Treat your designer well and reward will come back to you.
eBlasts are my favorite choice in advertising. They are fun to design, effective and an inexpensive way to advertise. If you have an email list for your company you should be sending out eBlasts!
If you are not a designer, DON"T design your own company logo. Your logo is your brand identity. It tells who you are and what your company is about. These days you can get a logo created for under $250. It is money well spent!
